During the years we have seen Huib Schippers being involved in different musical projects like Syntech, Trilithon, Astral Projection, etc. In 2006 his name came up again when the album Syntech Best Of Volume 2 was released. We got in contact with Huib to ask him some questions about his music career and we were positively surprised by the detailed and long answers that he gave us. He remembers everything in detail just like it happend yesterday. Read about his musical journey that, for example, involves a total change of music equipment from hardware to software.

Thank you for posting this! I love the album "Trance Dance 128" and there hasn't been much information about Huib Schippers and his music online.

Amazing interview Bulls Eye Felt I really got to know him, with the movie and all.... Listening to his favourite now "Relax - it's beautiful". Quite trancey!! He didn't seem to be very aware of his legend-status, please let him know! Thanks a lot for making the interview Staffan.

Also congratulations and thanks for the magic you present on the two latest Spacesound Records compilations....it's perfect spacesynth. You should let Huib hear them, and I'm sure he'll be inspired to return. It could be another eye-opener for him to hear that the Casio CZ-101 - sound he by chance brought to Michiel's studio back in the days, still lives better than ever on "Mission To Accomplish".

OK, this is very off-topic, but--

Remember April 2008? Rickrolling was everywhere at that time and you couldn't avoid hearing about it. If the Rickroll phenomenon did not happen, I probably would have never heard of spacesynth... and thank God it did happen!

That is pretty fantastic. Smile

Italopal, thanks for your kind words. Huib told us alot of interesting information in this interview and I must say that I'm really impressed that he remembers all those details about the music that they made back in the 80's.
In case you like to get in contact with him then just use the email-address that can be found at his website trilithon.nl.

Thanks for the really great interview Staffan. I pretty much enjoyed to read it- and I was positively affected to see how modest man Huib is... About one detail from the interview when he mentioned the meaning of melodies in music - I so much need to say that I absolitely agree with him.

Staffan managed to dig out even more interesting facts about Huib & Edwin, so another question and long detailed answer has been added to this interview, about halfway in it. It concerns releases from their own record label T-Recs..... Providing also a link to such a release on Discogs:

Again, a big thanx to Staffan for this.

Here is a videoclip that shows Huib recording the track Burning Up together with Astral Projection:

You can read about that co-operation in the interview.
